Resolutions

How is everyones New Year Resolutions going ? Did you make one, two or three ? Or non at all ?
One of my resolutions was to try really hard to wash my face at night. I do not like washing my face at night, I'm tired, usually cold and the last thing I want to do is get my face wet, yuck ! I've tried many diffrent ways to wash my face but have found the most effective for me is good old water and soap. Clinque has been one of my favorite skin care brands since I was really young. I love there skin care line. Its simple and works great !
Step one Cleanse
Liquid Facial Soap or you can get it in a bar

Step Two Exfoliate
New Clarifying Lotion
Keep in mind they have different Exfoliates for diffrent skin types
Step Three Moisturize
Again there are different moisturizes for diffrent skin types
And there you have it pretty simple right !
Hope your all having a great January !
Don't forget to wash your face tonight :)

Kid's Closet Organization

We have only been in this house for about 7 months, but my daughter's closet was a MESS! It actually had an organizational system, but it just wasn't working. I had a large storage unit made out of cubes that was taking up a ton of room, but wasn't being utilized. I wish I had a before picture, but I was just too focused on getting it done to worry about it! My daughter and I tackled it last night. I had to think about our two biggest problems- picking out clothes in the morning, and finding her shoes. I think we solved this problem:
I think that is the secret about organizing-it's not organized if it's not working. Here is what I changed:
*I bought her a 5-sectioned hanging organizer for her clothes. She can pick out her outfits for the week on Sunday, then just grab them in the morning. I also got her a shoe organizer that holds 10-pair of shoes. Each organizer was $10.99 at Fred Meyer, and had a 15% coupon off also! Great deal.
* Her room was feeling very cluttered with her laundry basket and stuffed animal basket out. Now they are hidden! Besides, who wants to see dirty laundry anyway!
*We already had the wire basket organizer (which is wonderful), so it pretty much stayed the same.
*There were a bunch of memorabilia-type items at the top of her closet-baby book, baby blankets, etc. I combined these all into one large container. (On the upper right shelf.)
*We sorted though everything in the closet and got rid of anything she didn't need. I just kept reminding her, "Less stuff means less to clean up!"

I think it is going to work great....we will see. If not, I will tweak it again!
*Sarah*

Carribean Rice n' Shrimp

This recipe comes from the cookbook "Taste of Home, Ultimate 5-ingredient Recipes," which I received as a Christmas gift. I made this last night and it was delish!

1 pkg. (8oz.) Caribbean rice mix (I used Zatarans)
6 C. water
1/2 lb. fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut into 1" pieces
1 lb. medium shrimp, peeled and deveined (I used a 14oz. bag of frozen cooked, but you can use uncooked also)
1 med. tomato, chopped

Prepare rice mix according to the package directions, omitting the chicken. Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add asparagus; cover and cook for 2 minutes. Stir in shrimp, cook for 2-3 minutes or until shrimp turns pink. Drain. Add asparagus, shrimp, and tomato to rice; toss gently. Makes 4 servings.

Note: I sauteed a couple of red and yellow bell peppers to bulk up the recipe. It was very yummy, and my whole family loved it. It is super easy to make, also, and I love all the colors in this dish!

Topping
1 1/2 cups shredded reduced-fat mozzarella cheese (6 oz)
1 can (14.5 oz) Muir Glen® organic diced tomatoes, drained
1 cup fresh baby spinach leaves, coarsely chopped
1 cup yellow or green bell pepper strips

2. Place dough on ungreased cookie sheet; flatten slightly. Roll out to 12-inch round. Bake 8 minutes.
3. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over crust; top with remaining topping ingredients. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until crust is light golden brown and cheese begins to brown. Cut into wedges to serve.
